No. Just bloody no. Do you know how long it took me and EVERYONE ELSE to get on the level we are now? Months and months of grinding. If you are going to undermine all that with even MORE months of grinding, and make us do it on every single proto suit that we have tediously maxed out...
That's going to make a lot of heads roll, man. Maybe I should start saving SP for your little "idea." At least give us a HUGE WARNING AHEAD OF TIME so we can do exactly that... for god sake...
I shudder to think of the NPE when all the guys around 10 mil SP log on one day and see "nope, you're not done yet. You'll be full proto SoonTM" ...

More variety and options are good. And bluntly post 5 doesn't mean better. If it follows the tech 2 ideas from EVE it will be a refinement such as taking a scout and making it more scanny and less stealthy. Taking a sentinel and piling on more firepower while sacrificing tank.
Basically pigeonholed roles that make a niche the post 5 suff excels at while sacrificing versatility.
oh thats good to know i ******* hate eve so... i didnt know that. i still feel justified posting this just to PREVENT it from happening

The assault suits have always been slapped around since 1.6. Why get a assault suit when i can be a gallente scout with more speed, faster regen and have one more slot. Because inevitably, scouts are going to eat the nerf bat because of that exact attitude. then more respec QQ will happen. again with the nerf bat instead of buffing assault suit's speed or damage output... either way i dont care anymore. After almost two years of nonsensical nerfing and buffing i am prepared for the inevitable. Here is good start for making assaults better. Buff the movement speed. Or you can keep listening to your numbers instead of listening to a pro.
No, buff the EWAR. Scouts have EWAR stats that will outperform medium frames WITHOUT ANY MODULES. That's ridiculous.

Everyone always ignores me when I say mediums need better EWAR.
Well consider this. A medium's default scans are equal to that of a heavy with one module of each stat. They actually have just as bad range as a heavy. That's ******* terrible right?
A default scout with no modules has as good EWAR as a medium that's STACKED TO THE GILLS WITH MODULES.
WHY do we need scouts to be twice as effective at scanning, so effective that they are on a whole different level that mediums can't even graze the surface of?
People's excuse defending the scout here tends to be "but they have no HP bro!" but what you don't seem to be GRASPING here is that Assaults are the MIDDLE GROUND between scout and heavy. They have a medium amount of HP, medium speed, medium amount of module slots... but have **** poor EWAR. Why shouldn't they be more evenly matched to Scouts?

and if post 5 was just applied to dropsuit upgrades no need for respec qq
for example
after precision upgrades lvl 5 it would give me +2% precision -1% range.(vice versa for range upgrades)
after shield upgrades lvl 5 it would give me +2% shield -1%armor (vice versa for armor upgrades)
and if you needed to undo previous mistakes you just have to skill into the opposite but still retain a smaller bonus from that mistake for example if i upgraded shield to 8 i would be getting +6% shields -3% armor and because i didn't like it i brought armor to 8 i would get +6% armor -3% shield.
combine both shield and armor upgrades i made i would be getting +3%shield +3%armor for a heavy sp investment.
No. I'm almost at 40 mil and there's no way you should be anywhere near the stage where you actually have freedom to do anything your whim desires. I've got Amarr Sentinel maxed out, Gal Logi maxed out, everything in dropsuit upgrades EXCEPT biotics and I'm almost done with EWAR, and a proto Gal Scout. And only one proto light weapon (if the AR can even be considered one), one sidearm and two heavy weapons pretty much maxed, still working on the shotty.
I'd say I'll have more freedom to do any random skill around 43 million. That's like, by Spring or the end of Winter. And that's a generous estimate considering I'm exhausted with this game and need a break after this Sidearm event.
And sorry but no. Your idea is bad.
